Pueblo Plant Reaches Halfway Point in First of Three Agent-Destruction Campaigns

The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant has destroyed more than half of the 155mm munitions at the Pueblo Chemical Depot, reducing the number of obsolete projectiles and destroying about one-third of the mustard agent stored by the U.S. Army in Colorado.

Pueblo Chemical Depot Welcomes New U.S. Army Commander

The 38th commander of the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Deport assumed command of the sprawling, high desert installation June 26.

Engineers at the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant are moving forward with limited construction at Pueblo Chemical Depot to support Static Detonation Chambers.

During a Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program exercise held on May 8, 2019, a worker in a personal protective equipment suit practices emergency procedures during this annual event. This year, CSEPP exercise participants coordinated from the alternate Pueblo Community Joint Information Center site at the Pueblo Department of Health and Environment to test their ability to work from any location.

Nearly 2,000 people from state and community agencies took part in Colorado’s annual Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program, or CSEPP, exercise May 8.

Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant technicians perform Integrated Facilities Demonstration activities April 23. Workers at the Pueblo plant have been performing the IFDs to show proficiency at different tasks with the facilities operating as they were designed to run, with more planned in May.

The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant recently hosted visiting dignitaries from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

Program Executive Officer Highlights Pueblo Plant Successes

The Program Executive Officer for the Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives program provided an update on continued progress at the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant during a Colorado Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission meeting Jan. 30.

A flag raising ceremony on April 28, 2015 signified the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant award in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Program for systemization. The plant received official approval for continued participation in the program for operations in December 2018.
