Blue Grass Plant Employees Prepare Through Training

Every worker at the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) receives specialized training to operate the facility in a safe and efficient manner. The project’s Training Department offers more than 100 classes and certifications to prepare employees for their respective roles in destroying the Blue Grass chemical agent stockpile. Classes and certifications range from General Employee training to Reading Logic Diagrams training and much more.

This national campaign was designed to call attention to the contributions to society that engineers make and to emphasize the importance of learning math, science and technical skills.

Community involvement has been a cornerstone of the Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives program since its inception. The Blue Grass plant continues to build on that tradition today through a wide variety of initiatives, including advisory boards, e-newsletters, an outreach office, social media channels and more, involving the community as a true partner in the project’s success.
