Blue Grass Chemical Stockpile Outreach Office

At the outreach office, you can learn more about the chemical weapons destruction project, including information on how the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) is destroying the Blue Grass chemical weapons stockpile utilizing neutralization and Static Detonation Chamber units.

As part of your visit, we invite you to provide feedback on the project. In addition, visitors may view displays, watch project videos that showcase progress as well as provide information on how the weapons are being destroyed, operate miniature robots and examine models of chemical weapons. The office also maintains information about the Program Executive Office, Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives, the Blue Grass Army Depot and environmental laws and compliance.

Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission and the Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board

Another key element of the destruction program is the Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission, or CAC, and its subcommittee, the Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board, or CDCAB. The CAC and CDCAB hold joint public meetings on a quarterly basis. These meetings provide a forum for the BGCAPP staff, government officials, ACWA leadership, members of the Commission and the public to exchange information regarding chemical weapons destruction in Kentucky.

Want to learn more about the CAC and CDCAB?

For information about the public laws governing CACs, read the CAC Legislation Fact Sheet. For a full list of current Kentucky CAC members, view the CAC Roster.

For a full list of CDCAB members, view the CDCAB Roster. Stakeholders may also contact the CAC/CDCAB Co-Chair Craig Williams at (859) 986-7565 or craig@cwwg.org or the CDCAB Co-Chair Madison County Judge-Executive Reagan Taylor at (859) 624-4700 or reagan.taylor@madisoncountyky.us.
