The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) is destroying the chemical weapons stockpile stored at the Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD).
The primary destruction process, neutralization, breaks down nerve agent into a wastewater product known as hydrolysate. This wastewater is shipped off site for further processing.
The facility receiving and treating the hydrolysate is Veolia Environmental Services near Port Arthur, Texas.
