Aug. 27 Colorado Chemical Demilitarization Citizen’s Advisory Commission Meeting (2025)

This is the Aug. 27 Colorado Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission online meeting.   • At approximately 16:27, Russell DeSalvo, president and chief executive officer, PuebloPlex, discusses recent public meetings held to capture feedback on redevelopment of the PCAPP parcel as well as work on reintegrating and reintroducing the property to a variety of Pueblo County departments. He says an announcement on a new anchor tenant will occur in September.
  • At approximately 20:52, Juli Mahr, Hazardous Waste Permitting Unit leader, CDPHE, provides an update on permitting activity, including the approval of seven permit modifications since the June meeting.
  • At approximately 26:58, Kornelly asks about the nature of the comments on recent Demolition Readiness Reports, to which Mahr replies that most of the comments are aimed at making the documents more understandable for public consumption.
  • At approximately 29:57, Walton Levi, site project manager, PCAPP, introduces Joni Weamer, project manager, Bechtel Pueblo Team (BPT), who opens the project status update with a report on plant safety. Sandy Romero, communications manager, BPT, shares information about a company-sponsored mental health challenge opportunity occurring this month for the workforce.

  • At approximately 48:16, Levi shares a chart on waste generation and shipping. He notes that shipments have been paused while the plant addresses a potential non-compliance issue regarding disposal of hydrolysate.
