Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant and U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot officials delivered a chemical weapons destruction update to Pueblo City Council members in May.
“We really appreciated the opportunity to present a project update to City Council,” said Walton Levi, site project manager, PCAPP. “It is important the Council is cognizant of the status of the destruction stockpile and eventual closure of the project.”
Levi presented alongside Todd Ailes, project manager, Bechtel Pueblo Team, and Col. Jason A. Lacroix, depot commander. Council members asked the officials about the potential loss of employment at the plant and depot, and project timelines and economic impact.
“My favorite part of the job is getting out into the community and letting people know about the work we’re doing at PCAPP as well as brag about our workforce and the job they’re doing,” Levi said.
The Pueblo Chemical Stockpile Outreach Office supports presentations to many groups in addition to government bodies, and is open for public visits Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 104 W. B. St., Pueblo.
