In July, the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) continued processing projectiles in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention pandemic recommendations. On July 9, just two months after destroying the last VX projectile, the BGCAPP team began processing VX M55 rockets. Representatives from the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection toured the new Static Detonation Chamber (SDC) 2000 site. Work continues at the SDC 1200 site with the setting of the off-gas treatment system and at the SDC 2000 site with the surrounding steel structure in place. As of July 23, the total amount of agent destroyed is 151 U.S. tons.
