In May, the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) continued processing projectiles in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention pandemic recommendations. The workforce reached a plant milestone with the completion of the VX 155mm projectile campaign on May 28. Members of the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protections toured the Duncannon Training Center to learn more about the new Rocket Handling System. Work continues at the Static Detonation Chamber 2000 site with the last and largest piece, the chamber itself, set into place. As of May 28, more than 26,000 155mm projectiles have been destroyed and the total amount of agent destroyed is 145.6 U.S. tons.
