In February, the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) continued operations under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention pandemic recommendations. The closed-circuit camera system was upgraded from an analog monitoring system to a digital system. Laboratory staff completed the final installation of the new Markes system, used to sample plant air for analysis. The system is part of an essential system to ensure the safety of the workforce, environment and surrounding community. On Feb. 9, U.S. Reps. Lauren Boebert and Doug Lamborn toured PCAPP during a visit to the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot. As of Feb. 19, more than 43,000 105mm projectiles have been destroyed and the total amount of agent destroyed is 1,817 U.S. tons.
