U.S. Reps. Lauren Boebert and Doug Lamborn toured the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant during a visit to the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot Feb. 9.
“We were able to demonstrate not only the destruction process, but how we do Demilitarization Protective Ensemble entries,” said Kim Jackson, plant manager, PCAPP. “Our workforce takes pride in what they do.”
Boebert and Lamborn toured the main plant, witnessing operations supporting the chemical weapons destruction mission, as well as Static Detonation Chamber units.
Boebert, a freshman congresswoman, represents Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district, which includes Pueblo. Rep. Lamborn represents Colorado’s 5th Congressional district, which includes Colorado Springs.
“This state-of-the-art facility places a premium on safety,” Boebert said. “The Depot is also an important employer for Pueblo. I want to thank Col. Michael Cobb and his team for this incredible tour.”
“As the ranking member of the House Readiness Subcommittee, which oversees our nation’s depots, I was grateful for the opportunity to witness how the outstanding team at the PCD successfully executes the handling, storing, and processing of our nation’s chemical weapons stockpile,” Lamborn said.
