In November, the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) continued operations under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention pandemic recommendations. On Nov. 2, members of the Colorado Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission along with PuebloPlex President and CEO, toured the Static Detonation Chamber (SDC) site. The SDC site crew began preparations for the next phase of the project which will include commissioning the Off-gas Treatment System and dry runs to practice for the Site Acceptance Test for Facility Construction Certification from the state. Changeover activities continued as the workforce prepares for the next munition destruction campaign. The workforce used ACWA Test Equipment to practice processing the 105mm projectiles as they are smaller than the 155mm projectiles recently destroyed at the site. On Nov. 17, munitions transporters received the first pallet of 105mm projectiles from the Pueblo Chemical Depot. Projectiles will be stored onsite in anticipation of the upcoming destruction campaign. As of Nov. 27, the total amount of agent destroyed is 1,752.6 U.S. tons.
