In October, the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) continued processing in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention pandemic recommendations. Design changes were made to the feedwater system In order to maintain heat through the winter and to keep condensation out of the main piping which steam exists the boilers. Training at the Duncannon Warehouse and Training Facility continues for the workforce to learn more about the Rocket Warhead Containerization System. Work continues at the Static Detonation Chamber 2000 site with the addition of a black waterproof coasting to the earth-covered magazine. As of Oct. 23, the total amount of agent destroyed is 81.2 U.S. tons. Currently, the Static Detonation Chamber is processing munitions while the main plant is preparing for the next destruction campaign.
