The Sept. 23 meeting to provide Blue Grass chemical weapons destruction updates to the public will be held virtually.
“In the interest of the health and safety of all participants and attendees during the COVID-19 pandemic, we made the decision to not hold an in-person meeting,” said Doug Hindman, chair, Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission (CAC). “Fortunately, there are some good options for conducting meetings online, and we are utilizing one of them to protect everyone and still be able to share and discuss information.”
The CAC and Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, Sept. 23, but will be conducted through Microsoft Teams, which includes a telephone option. This will allow presenters to share slides and visuals, as well as attendees to interact and ask questions.
“We have come to rely on virtual meetings as an effective way to continue to conduct business of this kind during the pandemic,” said Dr. Candace Coyle, site project manager, Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant. “I look forward to continuing to share information, answering questions and discussing topics with the group in our new format.”
