In July, the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) continued destroying chemical weapons while improving their pandemic response plans and following Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations. Data for the month of June at PCAPP recorded the best month of processing at 14,125 155mm projectiles. Assembly of three Static Detonation Chamber units was completed July 20. Planning is underway to begin trial burns, a mandatory requirement, at the Static Detonation Chamber site. Trial burns are a testing period divided into two phases, phase one consists of surrogate trial burn using non-agent chemicals and conventional ammunitions. As of July 24, the total amount of agent destroyed is 1,596.3 U.S. tons.
